K-pop: A Fast Spreading Virus (by Jezel Ann)

  We all have different taste in music and one of those many genres is Korean pop, K-pop has been around the music industry for a long time now.K-pop found its fame in the Philippines around the year 2007 and has completely dominated the teenage Filipinos taste in music between 2009 and 2010. One of the most popular groups are, 'Super Junior', 'BigBang', 'So Nyu Shi Dae', 2NE1 and many more.

        K-pop is now referred as a virus by kpoppers or kpop fans, First it will peak the viewers interest by its catchy visualizations and colorful music videos, then, make you completely addicted with its music and before you know it, you are already picking a bias member from the group and of course you'll start to search for the member's name on the internet and start stalking your new found bias on social media, you'll also begin to watch the variety shows they're guesting, watch the other members, admire them, and Voila! Welcome, you are now a newly recruited fan to the k-pop world a place where you can find your way in, but never find a way out.

        Next thing you know, you'll be recruiting others as well, it is a continuous cycle and it affects one person to another, this is like a disease that can be transmitted and it has a very fast reaction to a persons system where there's no cure.

        Nowadays, it is completely no doubt that k-pop have spread in Philippines and will continue to do so as the K-pop Industry produces more groups to debut and scouts for more rookies and trainees and it has no intention of stopping in the near future. Especially now that different Entertainment companies are making their name known to many fans as they release new groups, new ideas and new types of music, some of them are the newest boy group "Monsta X" which is a k-pop boy group who won from the survival show 'No Mercy', this group has a HIP-HOP Genre and debuted with their song "TRESPASS".

   and also the boy group "SEVENTEEN", this boy group debuted with the song titled ' ADORE U ' it has a cute, boy next door concept that made the hearts of the K-pop fans flutter and burst with so much 'feels!' specifically the female fans.

        An example of  a k-pop group who found its fame in such a short span of time is the k-pop group 'EXO' who debuted on the year 2012, slayed many music shows, ranked at the top of every billboard music charts, sold many album, has won many awards and is still famous in 2015.
